Sash Window Stop (M6 insert)
A ventilation stop for a sliding sash: a 44×22×16mm block that screws to the frame through two 4.6mm openings, with a central Ø8.0 bore sized for a common M6 brass heat-set or screw-in insert — a metal M6 thumbscrew through the insert then snugs against the sash stile, so the sash opens to the block and no further, and the screw takes up rattle. The thread is deliberately not printed: a printed M6 strips in a season of use, which is why the insert is the design and not an option; check your insert maker's recommended hole (most M6 heat-sets specify 8.0–8.2mm) and we cut to it. Fit one each side of the sash at your chosen opening height. Stated limits, because they matter on this page: this is a draught-season ventilation stop and a rattle stop — it is not a security device, not a child-safety restrictor, and nothing about a printed block should be trusted to resist a determined shove.
